Netflix is the world’s leading subscription service for watching movies and TV shows. The company’s offerings are diverse and constantly changing, but one thing never changes: You have to pay for them. This means that if you want to watch any show on Netflix — including those in its original programming — you’ll likely need a separate streaming device or smart TV.
Now, however, Netflix has announced that it will be adding what it calls “Profile Transfers” which allows you to transfer your profile from one device to another — including mobile devices — in case you have saved settings on your phone or tablet that you want to move to your TV. While that may seem relatively useless at first glance, there are some practical reasons for this feature:

“This is a major feature for us,” said Netflix CEO Reed Hastings in a press release. “The ability to share profiles across devices gives users greater flexibility when searching for content they want watch.”
The service is available in the US and Canada now, but there’s no word yet on when it’ll spread beyond those territories. It should come as no surprise that this feature has been long-requested by many users; after all, who wouldn’t want their favorite shows and movies at their fingertips wherever they happen?

Netflix is a service that requires a lot of data. If you have an older phone with less storage space and lower bandwidth, then it’s hard to believe that they’ll be able to stream their content effectively on your device. This means that people who want the full experience of watching Netflix will probably need an update from their carrier or phone manufacturer before they can enjoy it properly—which could be months or even years away depending on which model you’re using! In addition, if your internet connection has been down lately due to weather conditions or other issues outside of Netflix’s control (like Hurricane Irma), then you may not be able to access anything at all until everything gets fixed again—and neither does anybody else who lives near where these storms hit.”
